Yeah, I'm lazy. This is just the standard NP Thundurus set with a Lum Berry instead of a Life Orb. Still, it's the small details that end up making the biggest differences. Something as simple as an item or move change can completely alter the results of a game.
A lot of players try to use Jirachi to "counter" Thundurus. It's a pretty shaky strategy, but paraflinching can sometimes work. This set really punishes those players. Jirachi is 2HKOed by +2 Thunderbolt, even without the Life Orb. Blissey is 2HKOed by a boosted Focus Blast, provided it doesn't miss. Most Blissey users will try to status Thundurus, meaning they'll usually end up wasting a turn. Lum also helps against Ferrothorn with Thunder Wave and other random status users. Basically, this set retains all the important KOs of the Life Orb set while gaining some survivability and safety against status ailments.
This is, hands down, currently the most effective offensive Thundurus set. Taking a hit with something like Ferrothorn or Blissey, T-Waving, then revenge killing is a surprisingly common method of killing Thundurus (seeing as it lacks a real counter). With a Rapid Spinning Teammate and something to take on Gastrodon, this Thundurus has many sweeping opportunities.
